This is kind of a tough thing to describe, without the readers eyes glazing over-- "I like reading, hiking, and dancing...", yuck! Well, I will try and not bore you to death; but I actually do like all of those previously mentioned activities. Anyway, here goes.

I love travelling, when I have the time and money. I recently visited my mother who has moved back to Puerto Rico in retirement. We then went on a tour of South America, visiting Argentina, Chile and Peru. We did not get to visit Machu Pichu (due to flooding in the area), but we did happen to be in Chile for the 8.8 magnitude earthquake!

As you can see from the photo on the left, I am into dancing. It was taken in the world famous birth place of the tango, La Boca. The place is mostly a tourist trap now, but I had a great time.

My fairly recent favorite movie was Mad Hot Ballroom, about kids learning how to dance in a public school program. It is really touching, funny and warm hearted. My most recent book is The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao, by Junot Diaz. A really funny and informative book about latino life in the US and the Dominican Republic.


Finally, I really do love hiking. I go hiking in the East Bay hills whenever I have the time and energy.
