I have been working as a web developer or managing web development most of my working life. In the mid 1990’s I got my first web development job as a contractor, working at Sun Microsystems on their intranet. From there I went to Netscape, again as a contractor and worked on their DevEdge (developer support) website. At the end of those gigs, I landed a permanent position with Network General/McAfee.com. While at Network General we launched the McAfee.com website.
From those early days to today, I have continued to utilize my web development skills at a variety of organizations. Most recently, I have been utilizing my web development skills in health care.
In addition to what is commonly thought of as web development (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.), I also have solid object oriented programming skills. I can create the interface and the application code behind it.
I have listed some of the specific technologies I have worked with below:
- ASP/ASP.NET
- C#
- C++
- J2SE/EE
- Java
- JavaScript
- OOP
- UML and OOA/D
- Visual Basic
- XML
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- Eclipse
- NetBeans
- MS SQL Server
- MySQL
- Internet Information Server
- Apache
- Jboss
- Tomcat
- Python
- Shell scripting
Whew, I know all of that is an eyefull! Thanks for reading.
